Charity Events
LIVE COMEDY ATLANTA (“LCA”) is committed to helping charities raise “easy” money. It’s fun. It’s funny. And it’s very simple. LCA will produce a 90 minute comedy show at a designated location in the greater Atlanta area featuring stellar stand-up talent at minimal cost to you. Our seasoned comics will not only make you laugh, they will also make special announcements, talk up your cause and make a lasting impression on your charity and its benefactors. Over the years we’ve worked with a number of grass roots causes, formal organizations and individuals including:
- Ahimsa House
- Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue
- American Cancer Society
- American Diabetes Association – “80 Days For Diabetes”
- Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends
- Atlanta Police Athletic League
- Benefit To Fight Type 2 NF2
- Butterfly Wishes For Ellie
- Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta/Chastain Park Friends
- Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
- Forgotten Paws
- Frank Tate Brain Tumor Fund
- Furkids Pet Rescue
- Good Mews Animal Foundation

LCA has produced hundreds of successful, head-ache free charity events so we know first-hand how well this model works. It’s practically free money. If you are impassioned and you have a few friends to act as carnival barkers, it is relatively easy to attract anywhere from 40-100 patrons within a 2-4 week period. The charities can be formal or informal as long as the causes are legitimate. For instance, no events to support heart transplants for squirrels will be approved. Ditto on recreational breast augmentation and slush funds for transsexuals to compete in beauty pageants.
READY, SET, GO – IT’S TIME TO PLAN A SHOW
- The final decision maker should contact Jed Fearon at 404-869-4376 and/or jedfearon@yahoo.com.
- Pick a night for a show that can run anytime between 6-11pm. Seven-thirty to 9pm and 8 to 9:30pm are popular times.
- If you don’t already have a location in mind, LCA has a long-standing relationship with an elegant venue in the Buckhead area which is perfect for most events. We also have a few back ups.
- Commit to draw a crowd/gather an audience/target your potential attendees any cost-effective way you see fit. One more time – you bring the crowd.
- Charge them whatever you want – $15, $20, $25, $30, etc. We don’t care.
- LCA provides a phone number for all guest reservations. Patrons typically pay cash at the door.
- LCA books the most appropriate performers for the event.
- LCA also provides the spotlights, the Bose L1 Compact PA System and the music.
- Your only obligation to LCA is a “no-haggle” charge of $5 per ticket sold, payable right after the show.
Full Disclosure/Your Role/Waiver of Liability: All efforts to get a crowd are the responsibility of the charity. Without a crowd, the gracious venues who allow us to produce these shows lose food and drink revenue they would have made by letting a better qualified group utilize their space. If you can not rally a crowd through phone calls, email, word of mouth, etc., it is better to pass on this type of endeavor. The charity, cause or organization is responsible for any food/drink venue deposits, venue cancellation fees, flyers, advertisements, press releases or tickets as well as the collection of payment at the door – or elsewhere. LCA is not responsible for food and drink purchases with the venue(s) and assumes zero liability for food/drink deposits and/or settling outstanding food and bar tabs with the venue(s). All efforts to secure the comics are handled by LCA. No special talent requests are feasible with our fixed, low-fee, charity event offer. Some venues have ticket price “overhead” that may slightly alter the overall costs. These special situations will be worked out in advance. If you have arrived at this sentence and still have a ton of questions about how this uncomplicated, “drama-free” model works, you are more than likely not a fit for what we do. Pardon the cranky tone but life is too short for nitwits to taint this labor of love.
